Course Overview
Devotion prepares the heart. Power trains the hand. Wisdom governs the word.
Students learn to cast, count, record, interpret, and speak responsibly from four thumb-sized coconut-shell pieces, each with a cowrie attached to only one side.

Core Obi Abata System
The Four Fixed Casting Pieces
Each shell appears once in every cast. Each shell has a cowrie attached to only one side. The other side has no cowrie.

Entering the Multidimensional Shell System
Theme: The oracle begins with Ori.
- Introduce Obi Abata as sacred witnessing.
- Study Ori, ancestors, humility, and clean intention.
- Draw and label the four fixed pieces.
- Assignment: 21 casts, recording only physical landing pattern.
- Deliverable: 21-cast orientation log.
The Four Shells and Sixteen Physical Casts
Theme: Power requires accuracy.
- Learn I = inside-up and O = outside-up.
- Memorize all sixteen physical codes.
- Confirm each shell appears once per cast.
- Assignment: Cast until all 16 patterns appear, or complete 64 casts.
- Deliverable: Completed 16-cast recognition chart.
The Nine Named Obi Abata Categories
Theme: Wisdom counts what is visible.
- Count visible up-facing cowries.
- Count visible down-facing cowries.
- Resolve physical patterns into the 3 × 3 matrix.
- Assignment: 49 casts with code, up count, down count, category, first impression.
- Deliverable: 49-cast named-category journal.
The Heart of the Nine Names
Theme: The name must be spoken with reverence.
- Speak Oyeku, Ilera, Akoran, Aje, Ejire, Akita, Eros, Obita, Ogbe as medicine.
- Distinguish message, advice, and warning.
- Assignment: Write a 3-sentence devotional interpretation for each name.
- Deliverable: Nine devotional interpretations.
Questions, Consent, and Sacred Speech
Theme: The question shapes the power of the cast.
- Practice clean questions of healing, direction, timing, and correction.
- Study consent, confidentiality, and boundaries.
- Reject fear-based, manipulative, or repeated casting.
- Assignment: Write 10 clean questions and rewrite 5 poor questions.
- Deliverable: Question-framing worksheet.
From Cast to Counsel
Theme: Interpretation must become useful guidance.
- Practice the full reading sequence from opening to closing.
- Record the question, code, counts, name, interpretation, and counsel.
- Assignment: 3 self-readings and 2 readings for willing participants.
- Deliverable: Five completed Obi Abata reading records.
Devotion, Power, and Wisdom Together
Theme: Good character carries the oracle.
- Mock certification readings and instructor correction.
- Review Iwa Pele, humility, accuracy, and elder referral.
- Assignment: Submit the certification readiness packet.
- Deliverable: Logs, charts, interpretations, readings, and ethics agreement.
Final Demonstration and Obi Abata Certification
Theme: The student becomes a responsible witness.
- Perform live reading demonstration on Sunday Zoom.
- Identify all four pieces and explain the 16 physical casts.
- Count, name, interpret, and counsel responsibly.
- Outcome: Certified Obi Abata Diviner, upon demonstrated competency.
